It’s no secret that one of our favorite things about being a part of The Fort is seeing all the gorgeous images that photographers share with us daily. This ‘Boys Club’ party was no exception. It looks like it was so much fun, we wish we had been there! Take a look at September’s Rising Star, Amanda Faucett!!
I’m a native Texan and can’t imagine living anywhere else. My photography business and two kiddos keep me hopping but I wouldn’t have life any other way. My background in advertising and marketing as well as working with young people as a youth minister have provided me with a unique skill set that helps me manage both the business and creative sides of things fairly well. When I’m not shooting, editing, ordering or packaging, you can find me curled up on the couch with a glass of red wine watching the Food Network with my hubby or diving into a great book.

This “Boys Club” evening started one summer afternoon when my 6-year-old son came home from day camp announcing that he and two of his friends were going to have a Boys Club. I asked him what they were going to do. His reply: “Boy stuff”. Of course, I should have known. Every few days he would bring it up again, so I told my husband that we needed to host a Boys Club and that HE was in charge, hahaha! A few days before the big day, the only plans we had were a gigantic water balloon fight. It then occurred to me that I had 10 pages’ worth of wet and messy games on my computer from my youth ministry day camp days! So we laid out a game plan and made sure our son was happy with all the games…but left the epic Silly String battle as a big surprise at the end! We had Boys Club the Friday before school started – eight six-year-olds with shaving cream, chocolate pudding, watermelon, water balloons and Silly String in abundance!) — and I am still hearing from the moms of the boys who attended, telling me what a great time they had! (And please excuse any images that may be slightly out of focus – I was laughing too hard to hold the camera steady!)
PS – if you want to host your own Boys Club and you’d like the supply lists and instructions for the games we played, just email me and I’ll be glad to share!
